• The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group (ADSG), a public, private partnership for the benefit of sustainable development, collaborates with its members and partners to raise awareness about the various sustainability challenges and promotes sharing of knowledge and best practices in the field.
Abu Dhabi, 9th March 2022: The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group (ADSG), supported by the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), announced the launch of its 8th annual Abu Dhabi Sustainable Business Leadership Awards, with the closing date for awards applications at midnight on 1st September 2023.
The ADSG Awards and Gala Dinner celebration is a key sustainability recognition evening designed to celebrate all participating organisations’ sustainability achievements in the region.
The glamorous award ceremony and celebratory gala dinner is to be held at Anantara Eastern Mangroves Hotel in Abu Dhabi on 19th September 2023. The gala dinner is an annual event offering a unique opportunity for all member organisations, stakeholders and sustainability professionals to recognise sustainability achievements across the region.
The awards’ Independent Expert Judges Panel will be looking for organisations and individuals who demonstrate commitment, impact, leadership, and achievements for sustainability. The awards entries must highlight the organisation’s achievements during the calendar years 2021-2023 (June 2021- June 2023) for a period of two years.
As the United Nations warns that there is no credible way to restrict global warming to 1.5 °C, corporates and individuals must double up efforts to prevent additional increases in this key warming threshold. These awards form an integral part of the ADSG’s commitment to building global knowledge sharing platforms to catalyse action against climate change. They also support EAD’s vision as well as COP28’s goals of achieving sustainability and encouraging global cooperation to address global issues. The evening is also an opportunity for companies to bring together their employees, colleagues and peers in a socially interactive evening to renew their commitments towards sustainability.
Categories to be awarded are Best Sustainability Initiative, Best Sustainability Report, Sustainability Manager of the Year, Sustainability Leader of the Year, Best Sustainability Communication Programme and Best Energy Management Initiative.

The Abu Dhabi Sustainable Business Leadership Awards, launched for the first time in 2015, is an award and recognition scheme that is designed to celebrate sustainability best practice and to raise awareness about the benefits of sustainable management practices for organisations.
The scoring process for award selection is based on pointers such as, integration of sustainability, plan, do, review cycle, impact, communication and engagement, innovation and leadership, materiality, recognition. Medium to large organisations with over 250 employees in the region are able to enter.
